Guided Hikes/Snowshoe Excursions
Edgewood Consulting & Services leads private day hikes in the area local to New Paltz, NY. Areas in which the business guides include the Mohonk Preserve, Mohonk Mountain House Property, Minnewaska State Park, Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, and Shaupeneak Ridge Preserve in Esopus, NY. Hikes can be selected and tailored to be appropriate for you.
Hiking can be a half or whole day in length and may include snowshoeing in winter, weather permitting, and rock scrambling if desired and appropriate for your group. Hikes may be considered easy, moderate, or strenuous depending on the incline involved, type of terrain, distance to be covered, and time allotted. Edgewood Consulting & Services seeks to model and help participants practice Leave No Trace when exploring outdoors.
Whether you are an individual, couple, or group of friends or colleagues looking to get outside with a goal to exercise, to feel closer to God, to learn some tree identification, to see birds, to sketch or photograph nature, to bond as a group, or simply to breathe fresh country air, Edgewood Consulting & Services can help. Contact Edgewood Consulting & Services to schedule your hike today - (845) 255-7007.

How to Dress:
Wear layers that you can take on and off as needed.
In the summer months feel free to wear cotton clothes that breathe and keep you cool.
In fall and winter months, be sure to wear clothes made of polyester, polypro, silk, fleece and/or wool. Avoid wearing all cotton when it is cool or cold outside; when moisture builds (when you sweat) cotton does not keep you warm.
Wear close-toed shoes, boots or sneakers. Tevas, sandals, or flip-flops are not acceptable!

"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open."
- Jawaharlal Nehru
"The truth of the matter is that part of the essence of mountain climbing is to push oneself to one’s limits. Inevitably this involves risk, otherwise they would not be one’s limits. This is not to say that you deliberately try something you know you can’t do. But you do deliberately try something which you are not sure you can do."
- Woodrow Wilson Sayre

Weather forecasts are never 100% accurate. In the event the weather looks questionable for the day you are scheduled to hike, please call Edgewood Consulting & Services (845) 255-7007 to ensure it is safe to proceed or if we’ll need to reschedule. Edgewood Consulting & Services will make this determination. If you have any doubt, please call to confirm.
Refunds will not be issued if bad weather creeps in during the hike even if causing a change in itinerary or just making for a slightly less pleasant experience. Please understand this is just how Mother Nature works and the weather is out of our control.
While a specific itinerary, trail, destination and time frame is in mind at the start of every hike, there is no guarantee. The guide reserves the right to alter that itinerary if need be due to new circumstances that arise. The guide will only do so if necessary and with the group’s safety in mind. Hikes will not be rescheduled and refunds will not be issued in these cases.
